Former Mysore captain Subbarao Krishnamurthy passes away

Dr Subbarao Krishnamurthy, the previous Mysore captain, passed absent at the age of 79 on Thursday (December 7).

The wicketkeeper-batsman was born on Oct 26, 1938 and played his maiden to start with course match (3-day video game) for Mysore versus Ceylon XI in March 1958, scoring 26 and zero.

He then built his Ranji Trophy debut versus Hyderabad in November 1959. He went on to play 32 to start with-course online games, compiling 1336 operates and effecting 45 dismissals. He also captained the condition aspect.

Post retirement, Krishnamurthy served as a vice-president of the Karnataka Point out Cricket Association and for a while held the write-up of chairman of the collection committee.
