It was confirmed on Friday afternoon that Noni Madueke had completed a £52million move to Arsenal . We found out last week that Chelsea had reached an agreement with the Gunners and on Friday the deal was official - becoming the Blues' fifth outgoing of the summer thus far.
The £52million received for Madueke brings the total received for player sales to just shy of £100million, with Djordje Petrovic's £25million move to Bournemouth also being confirmed this week . Chelsea, though, are still hoping to offload numerous other players before the window reaches its conclusion on September 1.
Nkunku impressed in patches during the recently-concluded FIFA Club World Cup but the Frenchman wants to depart the Blues this summer and the club are not standing in his way. Chelsea are already planning for life without Nkunku, with numerous options being considered in attack.
An alternative to Rogers is Xavi Simons . Long present on the Blues' radar , the RB Leipzig attacker is reportedly keen on departing the Red Bull Arena this summer. Simons is an attacking midfielder by trade - with many feeling he is at his best in the No.10 role - but he can also come off either wing, which is something that makes him very attractive to Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are also looking at bolstering their defensive options this summer. Jorrel Hato from Ajax is a serious option for the Blues , with the 19-year-old attracting mass interest from around Europe. Like Simons, Hato's versatility is a major selling point for Chelsea, with the Netherlands international able to play at left-back as well as the centre of defence.
Marc Cucurella is Enzo Maresca 's go-to man at left-back - and is set to be for some time - but the amount of football the Spaniard played throughout the 2024/25 season is remarkable. Cucurella surpassed 5000 minutes in total during Chelsea's Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.
Selling players, as well as adding another attacker and a defender to their ranks seems to be the three priorities for Chelsea now Madueke is gone. As we know with Chelsea, things change all the time, so watch this space.
