Casemiro's honest opinion on Man Utd transfer targets who could replace him

Casemiro has big dreams for the future of Manchester United's midfield, having previously praised three of his potential successors. The Brazilian will leave Old Trafford following the final fixture of the season away to Brighton , bringing to a close a four-year spell with United.

Casemiro arrived at the club following an extraordinarily successful stint with Real Madrid , claiming every available trophy in Spain. He established himself as one of the most respected defensive midfielders during his peak years, winning a remarkable five Champions Leagues with the La Liga side.

But when his emotional exit from Madrid arrived, the 34-year-old expressed confidence that those inheriting his role in the centre of the pitch possessed the skills to fill the void. The three emerging talents charged with replacing the icon were Aurelien Tchouameni , Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde.

Now, this trio have been connected with transfers to United to assume Casemiro's position once again. Valverde is viewed as an outsider in Madrid following a training-ground confrontation with teammate Tchouameni.

Reports indicate that club officials are enraged with the 27-year-old and may consider offloading him in the summer. Firm links between United and Valverde have yet to surface, and his asking price is expected to be substantial given his contract runs until 2029.

But Casemiro is convinced that the Uruguayan would suit the club following his earlier remarks about how gifted he was at a young age. Speaking after leaving Madrid in 2022, the Brazilian said: "Real Madrid always signs the best players. Fede can do this job, and he's a player with 10 or 12 years ahead of him.

"Four or five years ago, I was saying we had one of the best midfields in the world . Fede can play as a defensive midfielder."

Camavinga is another talent that Madrid are willing to entertain offers for, having featured less prominently in recent months. United have been associated with the France international, who has been omitted from his nation's World Cup squad.

He is accompanied by Tchouameni, who has been touted with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer. United's rivals Manchester City could prove crucial to this deal as Madrid are plotting a move for Rodri.

The City midfielder has just over a year remaining on his contract at the Etihad and has previously acknowledged that "you can't turn down the best clubs in the world" when discussing a transfer to his homeland.

Should Rodri move to the La Liga heavyweights, this could pave the way for United to secure Tchouameni's signature. Casemiro has previously praised the French pair as he insisted he was leaving the club "in good shape" for the future.

He added: "Camavinga showed us last year that he can be a fantastic player. Tchouameni is a player who is well-known at this club; he's a starter for the French national team. Real Madrid is in good shape and has good players."
