Fulham Eye Inter's Taremi in €5m Striker Hunt

Premier League outfit Fulham have expressed their interest in signing Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi this summer (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio ).

The Iranian centre-forward moved to San Siro last year on the back of a prolific spell at FC Porto.

However, he struggled to nail down a regular role last season, while his inconsistent performances drew criticism.

Taremi managed only three goals and nine assists in 43 games for the Nerazzurri .

Inter are looking to move on from the 32-year-old just after a year, with a host of clubs showing interest in the striker.

The Italian giants have identified Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund as a top replacement for the former Porto star.

With Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic leaving this summer, Inter are also working on a deal to sign Parma striker Ange-Yoan Bonny .

They are looking for around €5 million to part ways with Taremi.

Fulham have emerged as the new suitors for the Iranian international, with Nottingham Forest, Fenerbahce and Besiktas also keen on his transfer.

The Cottagers view Taremi as a great option to bolster their forward line, while already having two solid centre-forwards Raul Jimenez and Rodrigo Muniz in their ranks.

Similar to Jimenez, Taremi is a traditional target man with brilliant hold-up play and finishing instincts inside the box. He will thrive with dynamic wingers around him.

However, Turkish giants Besiktas are said to be the frontrunners after submitting a concrete proposal for the Inter forward.

Taremi has caught the public’s attention in recent weeks after getting stranded in the Iranian capital Tehran amid war tension with Israel.

Meanwhile, the Cottagers are interested in bringing back Joao Palhinha , but the Portuguese midfielder wants to succeed at Bayern Munich.
