Manchester United and England star Harry Maguire is considering moving into coaching once his playing career comes to an end. The defender, 33, remains under contract with the Red Devils until 2027 , having only signed a new deal at Old Trafford earlier this season.

The club have the option of a further year on top of that, albeit it appears that Maguire is already mulling over his options. Having co-founded football feedback app Feedz, he has revealed that he could potentially swap boots for a tactics board once he retires.

As quoted by Training Ground Guru , the United defender said: “Better feedback builds better player. I’ve always believed, from a young age, that feedback is so important and can make you a much better player in the future.”

He added: “I’ve done my UEFA B and I’ve thought about it (coaching) in the future. For sure, Feedz is something that will help me if I go down that route. From a young age, I’ve always wanted feedback – even when I was a young boy. I don’t think it was as good as it can be, especially in Academies.

“I think there’s so much time these coaches have to put into sessions and the sessions are finishing late at night. They can’t really give too much feedback to each individual player.

“This is where Feedz can step in. It saves so much time. It’s so simple. I think it’d be really beneficial to the club and the players.”

Maguire has represented Sheffield United, Hull City , Wigan Athletic and Leicester City during his career. He became the most expensive defender in world football in 2019 with his move to Old Trafford.

Since then, Maguire has made 270 appearances for the Red Devils and has accumulated 66 caps for England. But it appears that retirement isn’t on the cards any time soon.

Speaking after agreeing a new deal with United, he said: “Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.

“I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.

“You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.”
