Martin Odegaard has missed Arsenal ’s Premier League match against Fulham after suffering a knee injury earlier this week.
The Arsenal captain was forced off after just 58th minute during the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Odegaard has been hampered by a knee issue throughout the season and the Norway international has been left out of Arsenal’s matchday squad for Fulham’s visit to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking before kick-off, Mikel Arteta was asked about the five changes he has made to his starting line-up from the draw with Atletico earlier this week.
‘Some of them are forced for different kinds of issues, and other reasons as well because obviously we need a lot of energy, freshness and quality as well for sure,’ Arteta said.
Eberechi Eze replaces Odegaard, while Bukayo Saka starts ahead of Noni Madueke on the right side.
Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori returns at left-back, with Piero Hincapie dropping to the bench,
Martin Zubimendi is also rested, with Myles Lewis-Skelly starting in central midfield, while Leandro Trossard is preferred to Gabriel Martinelli on the left.
