Son Heung-min Set for Record $22M+ MLS Move to LAFC

Son Heung-min is set to become the record MLS transfer when he joins Los Angeles FC.

According to journalists Tom Bogert and Ben Jacobs, the fee LAFC will pay for Son will eclipse the previous league record when Emmanuel Latte Lath joined Atlanta United from Middlesbrough for $22 million back in February.

The player is currently on the way to Los Angeles to undergo his medical before the transfer is completed.

Son is a blockbuster signing for LAFC after 10 seasons in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur where he played 454 games for the club, scoring 173 goals.

The 33-year-old was given a farewell during Spurs' 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Sunday in Seoul.
