Arsenal vs Newcastle United – Predicted lineup and team news

Arsenal take on Newcastle United this afternoon knowing a win will secure Champions League qualification.

The Gunners sit second in the Premier League table but a downturn in form means points are required. Arsenal have failed to win in five games across all competitions.

The North Londoners will confirm their place in the Champions League with a win, though defeat will see third-placed Newcastle climb above them in the table.

Newcastle arrive in the capital in good form and have lost just one of their last nine in the Premier League . The Magpies have already beaten Arsenal three times in all competitions this season, without conceding a goal.

Kai Havertz could feature for Arsenal after returning to training following a long-term hamstring injury. The German was initially ruled out for the campaign but has made a sooner-than-expected recovery. Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard also took part in training this week after sustaining knocks a week ago.

In terms of absentees, Arsenal remain without Gabriel Maghalaes, Gabriel Jesus, Jorginho, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Calafiori; Partey, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Trossard.

Arsenal host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday May 18th 2025. Kick-off in North London is 16:30 BST.

Arsenal vs Newcastle is available to watch on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Go UK and NOW UK.
