He then fouled Jaidon Anthony on the halfway line as the Clarets threatened a breakaway.

Slot clearly felt it was a risk to continue with the left-back so he replaced him with Andy Robertson.

The Scot had an immediate impact too as he created space in the box before firing at the goalkeeper.

Slot gave Kerkez a talking to on the touchline, and gestured with his finger, appearing to discuss the incident where he fouled Anthony.

Fans feel Kerkez was fortunate to escape a sending off, as the foul he committed was worthy of a yellow card.

One said: "Kerkez gotta be off surely. That’s a yellow card."

Another added: "Kerkez kept fouling after his yellow he was begging to get sent off."

A third wrote: "That Kerkez sub was an admission of guilt over that Antony challenge, I'm crying."

And another commented: "Kerkez looking like a walking red card in this first half."
