Man Utd in Talks for Chelsea's Jackson Amid Striker Hunt

Manchester United have opened discussions with the representatives of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, according to BBC Sport .

Jackson moved to Stamford Bridge from Villarreal two seasons ago and has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.

However, his future has been thrown into doubt following Chelsea’s summer acquisitions of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, both of whom have quickly moved ahead in the pecking order.

Chelsea maintain they are not desperate to sell Jackson and would only consider a transfer if a suitable offer is presented.

After a relatively quiet window, with only Matheus Cunha arriving so far, United’s quest for a striker has moved up the agenda.

Initial focus had been on completing the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but with that deal approaching its conclusion, the United hierarchy will now turn their focus to securing an additional forward.

United are not alone in pursuing Jackson, as Aston Villa and AC Milan have also shown strong interest. However, valuations between Chelsea and other suitors remain some distance apart.

Internal discussions at Old Trafford over a move for Jackson remain in the early stages as United weigh up the 24-year-old against alternative targets. The club’s decision may hinge on sales and budget availability in the coming weeks

United have already agreed deals to part ways with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, albeit only temporarily with the former .

The Red Devils are still hoping to sanction a sale for Alejandro Garnacho, who Chelsea has long admired, and it remains to be seen if the Blues would consider a swap deal of any sort.
