Sesko's Shock Demand: Snubs Newcastle for Man Utd Despite £74m Bid

BENJAMIN SESKO wants to join Manchester United, according to reports.

That's despite Newcastle having a bid accepted for the RB Leipzig striker.

Reports in Germany yesterday suggested that United had matched the Toon's £74million bid .

The offer is said to have been worth £65m plus £9m in add-ons.

Newcastle, meanwhile have structured their bid at £72m with £2m in additional fees.

According to The Athletic , the Toon's bid has been accepted... but Sesko only wants to sign for United.

The Red Devils remain in negotiations with RB Leipzig regarding a transfer fee.

But club bosses reckon that they have now moved ahead of Newcastle in the race to sign Sesko.

SunSport understands that boss Ruben Amorim is also willing to let Rasmus Hojlund leave the club in order to make space for Sesko, even if United only receive a £30m transfer fee.

A swoop for the Slovenian would take United's summer spending on a new front three to more than £200m.

Ruben Amorim 's side signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £62.5m deal back in June.

Red Devils bosses then sealed a £71m swoop for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo last month.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have been desperate to recruit a striker amid speculation surrounding Alexander Isak's future.

The Swede, 25, told Toon chiefs last month that he wants to leave St James' Park .

Liverpool had a £110million bid knocked back for Isak , and could return for the forward later in the window.

Newcastle are already light up front, having released Callum Wilson at the end of last season.

Sesko trained alone yesterday as he nears an RB Leipzig exit.

The German side's bosses are happy for Newcastle and Man Utd to engage in a bidding war, but don't want the situation to drag on as they recognise that they need time to replace their forward.

According to The Athletic , RB Leipzig have contacted Liverpool regarding a possible move for Harvey Elliott.

The Reds are said to want more than £50m for the England youth international.

Arne Slot's side would accept a lower fee, however, if they can include a buy-back clause in the deal.
