Man Utd Reject 5 Bids for Maguire Amid New Contract Talks

Manchester United have turned down five separate approaches for Harry Maguire, with three offers coming from clubs within the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail , the 32-year-old has been at the centre of an unexpected transfer saga after garnering interest across England and Italy.

Maguire’s suitors have been informed by INEOS chiefs that he is not for sale this summer or next, despite his current terms expiring in June 2026 following his one-year option being activated at the start of the year.

Instead, the Red Devils are planning to reward the centre-half’s valiant efforts with a long-term deal, which could well see him spend the remainder of his career on the books at Old Trafford.

Yesterday marked six years since Maguire joined United in an £80 million transfer – a then world record – from Leicester City.

He has endured as tumultuous a tenure as a player could, having been made captain by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just five months into his United career.

Then, a turbulent run of form led to Maguire playing a heavily reduced role under Erik ten Hag in 2022/2023, and he ended the season with only eight Premier League starts to his name. That summer, it was confirmed that Ten Hag had decided to strip the Englishman of the captaincy and award it to Bruno Fernandes.

Yet, the Yorkshireman didn’t wallow in self-pity over his less-than-ideal situation. Maguire picked himself up, dusted himself off and gave 110 per cent in the rare opportunities he was granted – to the point he eventually reclaimed a key role in the starting 11, which has continued into Ruben Amorim’s reign.

As a result, United are now said to be ‘keen’ to keep hold of him in M16, where he has formed one-sixth of Amorim’s newly-implemented leadership team .
