Alan Shearer has revealed who he believes will win the Europa League final — and what it could mean for both clubs' futures.
Tottenham and Manchester United will face off in Bilbao on Wednesday night with both clubs' seasons on the line. The pair have endured torrid Premier League campaigns with Tottenham sat in 17th, one place above the relegation zone, and United only narrowly better off in 16th.
The two sides' fortunes could change this week as whichever club takes victory in the Europa League final not only wins crucial silverware, but also a spot in the Champions League next season.
Ruben Amorim will be hoping to prove he's the man to take Man United forward, whereas Ange Postecoglou will want to silence his critics and confirm his statement of always winning something in his second year. Shearer admits it's a hard one to call, but one team has a slight edge.
He told Betfair : "This match is pretty impossible to predict when you look at how bad both teams have been. Spurs have done really well against Man United this season, so due to their record against them I'd say Spurs may be slight favourites.

"There are more negatives than positives for both teams when you look at them. I really haven't got a clue what to expect or what teams will turn up. It's a bit of a flip of a coin and it'll be a disaster for whoever doesn't win.
"Given what’s at stake for both clubs, it could have an impact on the game. There's so much relying on both teams, managers and both clubs' short-term futures.
"There's no exaggeration that both teams need an injection of five or six players to try and compete again and that's why the stakes of this game are enormous."
The two sides have played each other three times this season with Spurs beating Man United 8-3 on aggregate across all fixtures. In fact, Tottenham haven't lost to the Red Devils since October 2022 when Antonio Conte was in charge.
Tottenham were able to get their clash against Aston Villa moved from Sunday to Friday last weekend , the same day as Man United's away game at Chelsea . This has given both sides the same amount of rest days ahead of the final.
