Andy Robertson is poised to join Tottenham this summer after playing his final game for Liverpool on Sunday. Robertson joined Mohamed Salah in bowing out at Anfield following their 1-1 draw with Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Scotland international announced in April that he would follow Salah out of the exit at the end of the season. He has been with the club since a move from Hull City in 2017 and will leave after nine years and 378 appearances for Liverpool.

Tottenham tried to sign Robertson in January , but couldn't get a deal over the line. Liverpool were open to selling the 32-year-old, in order to receive a fee before his contract expires and Robertson held talks with Spurs, although it never emerged.

However, it is understood that he has agreed personal terms with Spurs, who have a good chance to wrap up the deal after avoiding relegation from the Premier League. Their 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday was enough to secure 17th place and send West Ham down.

Robertson says he will now focus on playing for Scotland at the World Cup this summer, while he did also comment on a potential return to Liverpool in the future.

"These guys come and support us every single week. I've been here nine years and we've played in front of a sellout crowd at Anfield and full away ends every game," he told Sky Sports .

Asked how he was feeling, Robertson added: "Emotionally drained. It's been a busy week trying to keep your emotions in check and saying bye to those you need to say bye to.

" Pep Guardiola pushed us to new limits. We should have won more Premier Leagues if it wasn't for that man. Seamus Coleman is leaving Everton and he's been a fantastic servant for that football club.

"In years to come, then we know we're both welcome back to this football club. This is a big chapter in our book but it's not the end. First and foremost, we have to switch off and focus on the World Cup. I know this is our family and we'll be welcome back."

Robertson has been usurped by Milos Kerkez as Liverpool's first-choice left-back and the club were open to selling their veteran defender in January. He was unhappy with the lack of minutes and toyed with moving to Spurs mid-season.

"There was obviously interest there - there were discussions had with both sets of clubs," Robertson later explained. "But the decision was that I wanted to stay. We stayed at Liverpool and that was the decision made."

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
