Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with moves for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford amid uncertainty over his future at Barcelona .

Rashford is keen to sign a permanent deal with Barca after impressing during his season-long loan at the Nou Camp.

Ex-United boss Ruben Amorim sanctioned Rashford’s move to Aston Villa last season and again told him he was free to leave in the summer.

Rashford helped Barcelona win La Liga and go deep in the Champions League , scoring 14 goals and making ten assists.

Barcelona bosses have repeatedly praised Rashford , suggesting they are keen to active a clause which allows them to sign him permanently for around £26m.

But that deal is in serious doubt after Barcelona signed Rashford’s England teammate Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for £70m .

Barca are still believed to be open to exploring a deal for Rashford but the Gordon transfer certainly reduces its chances.

A return to Manchester United appears to be off the table despite Amorim’s exit and Michael Carrick’s return to Old Trafford as manager .

Rashford will not be short of options if his dream move to Barcelona falls through, however, with several domestic and foreign clubs known to be admirers of the 28-year-old.

According to the Daily Mail , Rashford’s entourage believe Arsenal and Chelsea will both be interested in a deal if the price is right.

New Premier League champions Arsenal are set to back Mikel Arteta once again in this summer’s transfer window , with at least one new forward set to arrive at the Emirates Stadium.

A number of pundits have urged Arteta to sign a new left-winger to replace Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, who both endured mixed seasons.

Chelsea are also gearing up for a big transfer window as they look to back incoming manager Xabi Alonso following a disappointing campaign.

The Premier League clubs won’t have free run at Rashford, however, as the player’s representatives also believe Bayern Munich and even Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid will show interest.

Bayern were heavily linked with Gordon before Barcelona hijacked their move, while incoming Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be interested in Rashford .

Rashford has made over 400 appearances for boyhood club Manchester United, scoring 138 goals.

Gunners legend Lee Dixon recently branded Rashford ‘an Arsenal player’ but questioned whether Arteta should bring him to north London .

‘Being an ex-Manchester United player, Marcus Rashford to Arsenal doesn’t sit well with me because I don’t really like United,’ he told BoyleSports.

‘But as a player, I’ve always been a big fan of his. Obviously, he dropped off his levels. What happened at the end of his United career was unfortunate.

‘It didn’t end particularly well. He flitted in and out of the Barcelona set-up. He’s a player on his day that is absolutely, you know, he’s an absolute Arsenal player in as much as he’s got, you know, he’s got pace, he’s direct.

‘However, I’m not sure you can trust him, so I think Arsenal could do better.’

Meanwhile, Ally McCoist has insisted Rashford would ‘thrive’ at Arsenal , who won the Premier League before losing to PSG in the Champions League final.

‘100 per cent I could see him playing there,’ McCoist told talkSPORT Bet Casino . ‘Marcus Rashford could thrive at Arsenal.’

Rashford is part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad that is preparing to travel to the United States for this summer’s World Cup.
