Arsenal could still complete five transfers in the final month of the summer window with the Premier League season starting in mid-August.

Mikel Arteta has given Andrea Berta the green light on six deals with nearly £200million spent to sign Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Gunners are still looking at further incomings with Arteta hoping for more quality in the final third. That need was evidenced by a lack of conviction in the 1-0 pre-season defeat to Tottenham on Thursday with just one shot on target managed and that was a rather tame effort by Kai Havertz.

In his 68 minutes on the pitch, Gabriel Martinelli was particularly anonymous with Leandro Trossard also not making an impact before picking up an issue that saw him replaced by Reiss Nelson. The 25-year-old is in talks to join Fulham on loan and yet has been Arsenal's best performer off the left in several friendlies.

Another exit in that area is entirely possible considering what it could fund with Arsenal linked to both Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze. Crystal Palace want £35million paid upfront in any deal for the latter and the Gunners could afford that if more exits after Nelson are sanctioned.

Fulham are also interested in signing Oleksandr Zinchenko, with Arsenal wanting £15million to sell. Fabio Vieira is another that has seen interest from the Premier League, emerging with West Ham adding him to their shortlist as the Gunners hope to earn £20million courtesy of his expected exit.

On top of that, Trossard could also exit if a formal approach is made, with Arsenal rejecting one from Saudi Arabia nearly 12 months ago because of how late it came into the summer window. Given his age and contract situation, if Arsenal receive an offer of roughly £20million, it should be accepted.

Selling all of those names could even give Arsenal enough financial breathing room to sign Rodrygo, with reports in Spain claiming that Real Madrid are willing to lower their asking price €90million (£77.8m) . If it becomes clear they would be open to receiving a fee in the region of £60million, the Gunners should absolutely pursue a deal.

That would see two new additions arrive to bolster Arteta's squad, with three exits completed to help fund those signings that would likely take their spending over £300million.
