Arsenal's summer transfer business has slowed down since the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP . Mikel Arteta's side completed the £64million arrival of the Sweden international on Sunday, July 27.

Gyokeres, 27, became the club's sixth addition of the window after Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera all headed through the Emirates Stadium doors. They have spent around £192.6m and got just £6.9m from departures, with Nuno Tavares their most expensive exit.

While Arsenal have the biggest net spend out of anyone in the Premier League, the Gunners are not expected to stop there when it comes to bringing players in. They haven't made much movement since Gyokeres signed - but Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze has been identified as a potential attacking midfield addition.

Here is the latest transfer news and rumours from Arsenal;

Jacquet pursuit

Arsenal are intensifying their pursuit of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of the new Premier League season, according to TEAMtalk .

The 20-year-old has emerged as a top target for the Gunners, who have already scouted the centre-back and he's high on the club's short-list of defensive reinforcements. Jacquet has caught the attention of Arsenal's recruitment team with his composure, physicality, and ability to play out from the back.

Instead, the Gunners need to be looking at prioritising a more in-demand position, which is the attacking midfield area. I do believe that Arsenal still lack some creativity and that should be emphasised. Eberechi Eze is the man I'd target, as I think that he could take Mikel Arteta's side to the next level.

Wilshere return?

Jack Wilshere is expected to return to Arsenal as part of the youth set up, again, according to reports. The 33-year-old left his role as the club's Under-18s head coach to join Norwich City in October.

He acted as a first-team coach to Johannes Hoff Thorup, for most of the season, before being promoted to interim manager of Norwich in mid-April after the Canaries sacked Thorup.

But Wilshere is set to move back to Arsenal as part of the youth team coaching set up following a departure from Norwich, who have since appointed Liam Manning as their new manager, this summer.

There is a number of other talented youngsters in the club's academy system and Wilshere could be the perfect mentor and coach for them to flourish, having proved himself before. Yes, he might leave again to pursue a role in first-team football, but while Arsenal have the chance to have him there, it's a no brainer.
