It's official – Arsenal are Premier League champions for the first time since 2004. The Gunners secured their first title under Mikel Arteta without even playing on Tuesday night, thanks to Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with Manchester City .

That result means the north Londoners are four points clear at the top and therefore untouchable ahead of Sunday's final round of matches. However, on-pitch success hasn’t stopped Arsenal from making transfer plans for the summer. The Gunners hierarchy invested heavily in the squad last summer, spending over £250million in a club record transfer window .

By bringing in an unprecedented eight players, the 2025/26 campaign has already turned out to be the most successful in the club’s recent history, based on their performance across all four competitions. Manager Mikel Arteta will know that reaching the pinnacle is one thing but staying there is another, meaning he will rely on sporting director Andrea Berta again to get deals across the line.

Berta is understood to be working on several outgoings required to balance the books before bringing in new players. Some of the players Arsenal have reportedly shown an interest in are Julian Alvarez, Mateus Fernandes and Tino Livramento in recent weeks.

Here, Mirror Football brings you two of the biggest transfer stories involving the north Londoners.

Josh Kroenke, Arsenal’s co-chairman and the son of owner Stan Kroenke, has hinted at another significant transfer window for the club this summer. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) have invested heavily into the club throughout Arteta’s tenure.

And the good news for the Gunners faithful is that last year’s record transfer outlay doesn’t appear to have been a one-off, with the Kroenkes keen to push on and ensure they remain competitive across England and Europe.

Writing in the match-day programme ahead of Arsenal’s game with Burnley , Josh said: "We will give everything we’ve got to win major trophies. And you can rest assured that everyone at the club will continue the hard work to make the coming weeks unforgettable.

"We couldn’t have reached this point without the incredible support and backing you have given us once again, and we know you will create another electric atmosphere here tonight. The connection we feel with our supporters fills us with pride.

"Between us, we are building something very special and, wherever this month of May takes us, there will be no standing still when the season ends."

Hamburg have turned down the opportunity to sign Arsenal flop Fabio Vieira permanently from Arsenal for the time being. The Portuguese playmaker, who signed for the Gunners in 2022 for £34m, joined Hamburg last summer on a season-long loan deal.

Arsenal had hoped their out-of-favour midfielder would leave permanently this summer, given they agreed an option-to-buy clause with the German side when the deal was struck. However, that £19.16m option has been snubbed by Hamburg at the end of his loan spell.

The 25-year-old played a key role in helping the club finish well clear of the relegation zone during their first season back in the top flight, scoring seven goals and notching five assists in the league. It is understood HSV would like to pay under €10m (£8.7m) to land Vieira permanently but that figure is substantially lower than the value of the buy-option, which was hastily negotiated between the clubs on transfer deadline day in September.

However, there is still a chance an agreement could be reached, with Vieira keen on a move to Germany and further talks planned. When asked about the possibility of returning to Hamburg next season, Vieira told reporters: "I have to be open to everything. Let’s see what happens.
