Arsenal are only one game away from Premier League glory after seeing off a spirited Burnley side, who certainly made it a contest at the Emirates.
The Clarets already know they'll be playing in the Championship next season but still made it difficult for the champions elect. Mikel Arteta's sights are now set firmly on Crystal Palace after Kai Havertz's goal helped secure the three points that extended their lead at the summit - before the German was perhaps lucky not to see red.
Those connected with Arsenal will be left to watch Manchester City , as they aim to respond at Bournemouth on Tuesday. Anything but a win will see the title head to north London.
Arsenal dominated from minute one and saw a Saka penalty appeal checked but waved away by VAR, despite the Arsenal players making their feelings clear. Mikel Arteta too was left with his head in his hands.
The Arsenal winger was on hand to lay on the opener as the hosts again prospered from a corner. Saka's delivery was perfect for Havertz, who was unmarked as he leapt to head home on 37 minutes.
Burnley offered more of a threat in the second-half, but David Raya still remained untested. Their efforts were restricted to those from range whilst they failed to make the most of their rare trips into the final third.
Arsenal largely controlled the contest, even if they failed to extend their lead, but threatened to create a problem for themselves when Havertz slid in on Lesley Ugochukwu and and made contact high up with his studs. A VAR check freed him of a nervous wait and he escaped with a booking.
On a night where news of Pep Guardiola's City exit leaked out Arsenal did their bit to ensure he will not leave a champion. Here's five talking points from the capital.
Arsenal are close, oh so close now. The team of 2004 became iconic because of their Invincible achievement, but few would've expected the Gunners to go 22 years without another league triumph but he were are.

The class of 2026 are one game away from making their own history and Selhurst Park could be the scene of one almighty title party, even if they will be the away team. The nervousness inside the Emirates quickly disappeared when Havertz opened the scoring and Arsenal are now within touching distance. They'll hope they don't even need to get the job done themselves with Bournemouth potentially finishing their work on Tuesday night.
On a night where the first goal was going to prove all important against a team who were always going to sit deep, it felt appropriate that it came from a corner. Burnley were unable to prevent the Gunners adding to their tally of set piece goals, which has already dwarfed the rest of the league.
Unlike some of their other routines this season, this goal was as simple as they come. Saka into a nice area and Havertz, already a tall man, jumping high to head home. The timing of the goal also proving crucial - the nerves inside the stadium would've ramped up had the game still been goalless at half-time.
Arsenal's Norwegian ace is no longer the guaranteed starter he once was. Go back a few years and he was the team's chief playmaker, their No 10, almost without debate. The influx of more and more quality has given Arteta more options however.

Odegaard himself has also dealt with injury setbacks, which have impacted on his involvement, but in the defining games recently the ex-Real Madrid star has stepped up in a big way. Once again he's become the man that Arsenal play through. His bravery with the ball was key in the win at West Ham last time out and against the Clarets he was the man knitting everything together.
Who knows if it'll even come down to it, for starters City would need two wins and an Arsenal slip up, but the Gunners may have seen Burnley as an opponent they could beat and beat well.
The Clarets are already relegated, but showed they can dig in and keep games tight. They managed to keep Man City to within one goal when they narrowly lost at Turf Moor only a few weeks ago. But should the table end up level, and that’s a big if, then goal difference could play a massive part. Then again Arsenal and City may wonder how they both only beat the team with the worst defence by the solitary goal.

The Clarets have largely gone down without much fuss. Their relegation has been expected for months and it means next season will be their six successive year in a different division. They've found themselves in their promotion to relegation to promotion era.
They've been electric in the second tier, picking up at least 100 points in their last two promotion campaigns, but are unable to put up much of a fight as they bid to retain their top flight status. A lack of ambition has certainly been cited as an issue, losing their top players immediately after coming up, and whoever Burnley hire next will have to make plans beyond next season, when they'll be among the promotion favourites again.
