Chelsea couldn't resist a savage dig at London rivals Arsenal just minutes after their heartbreaking Champions League final defeat. The tears had barely dried on the Arsenal players' faces before Chelsea posted an image of the Champions League trophy they won to promote a Stamford Bridge stadium tour, following the Gunners' gut-wrenching penalty shootout defeat.

The Ligue 1 side triumphed 4-3 on penalties in Budapest to retain their Champions League crown, and the Blues wasted no time taking to social media to twist the knife into Mikel Arteta's shattered squad. On X, Chelsea shared a post inviting supporters for a tour of Stamford Bridge, with the caption: "Come and visit London's Home of Trophies. Book your Stadium Tour at Stamford Bridge now."

The main image on the post was a replica of the Champions League trophy, which Chelsea claimed for the second time in 2020-21, defeating Manchester City in the final.

That triumph cemented their status as the London club with the most Champions League titles, having first conquered Europe back in 2011-12, overcoming Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena.

The Blues were ruthless in their mockery of Arsenal, whose quest for their first-ever Champions League title goes on following their shootout heartbreak. Chelsea shared a reel of images also featuring the Club World Cup, having overcome PSG in the final of that tournament last summer.

Former Chelsea star Kai Havertz put the Gunners ahead after just five minutes, justifying Mikel Arteta's choice to deploy the German international up front instead of summer signing Viktor Gyokeres.

The 26-year-old netted the winner for the Blues in that triumph over Man City back in 2021 and demonstrated his quality once more with a superb finish as the ball fell favourably for him after Marquinhos' attempted clearance crashed into Leandro Trossard's left shoulder.

Ousmane Dembele levelled from the penalty spot after Cristhian Mosquera brought Khvicha Kvaratskhelia down inside the box, with Daniel Siebert showing no hesitation in awarding the penalty.

The match ended 1-1 and progressed to penalties, where Eberechi Eze and Gabriel both missed their attempts from 12 yards out as PSG emerged 4-3 victors.

The ultimate showdown is here. Premeir League champions Arsenal are on the march in the Champions League final this weekend, ready to fight for Europe's biggest prize.

The Ligue 1 outfit secured the initial psychological edge of the penalty shootout when they won the coin toss, with the crucial moments playing out before their supporters at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Eze pulled his effort wide of the goal before David Raya offered Arsenal a reprieve by saving from Nuno Mendes.

With the shootout level at 3-3, Lucas Beraldo sent Raya the wrong way before Gabriel fired his attempt over the bar and Arsenal's dreams of adding to their Premier League triumph with a first Champions League crown ended in devastation.
