Erling Haaland has issued a response to Myles Lewis-Skelly six months after the Manchester City striker was ‘mocked’ by the Arsenal defender.

Haaland, 25, and Lewis-Skelly, 18, have had beef since the heated 2-2 Premier League draw between Arsenal and City in September 2024.

The match between the two title rivals saw Lewis-Skelly make his Arsenal debut with Haaland turning to him and shouting: ‘Who the f*** are you?’

Lewis-Skelly got revenge over Haaland when Arsenal smashed City 5-1 in February, copying the Norwegian’s lotus celebration after scoring a goal.

After the clash, Lewis-Skelly shared a ‘keep it humble’ message on his Instagram – in a collaboration with Adidas – in what was a reference to Haaland previously telling his manager Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’.

Haaland has now finally responded to the English teenager in a new interview, telling TIME : ‘They won the game 5-1. So yeah, they got me.

‘If he wanted to use that moment to mock me, that’s fair enough for him. Whatever he wants to do, he can do.’

Quizzed about his now infamous ‘stay humble’ dig at Arteta in September 2024, Haaland vowed to continue using the phrase.

‘I think it’s an important phrase, which a lot of people should use, including myself,’ Haaland added.

‘It’s one of the most important things, as individuals, to do.’

Arsenal and City have developed somewhat of a rivalry after fighting each other for the Premier League trophy in recent seasons, although it was Liverpool who were crowned champions of England last term.

Arteta’s team finished as Premier League runners-up to City in both 2023 and 2024. In 2025, Arsenal finished second again and City were third.
