Manchester United have confirmed that Jadon Sancho and five other players will LEAVE the club this month.

Sancho, 26, joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £73million in 2021 and ended up making 83 appearances during his time at Old Trafford, scoring 12 times and providing six assists. His final game for the Reds came in the 2024 Community Shield, when he came on as a second-half substitute against Manchester City .

The 23-time England international spent the second half of the 2023/24 season back at Dortmund before going on loan again to Chelsea for 2024/25 and then to Aston Villa for 2025/26.

Despite attempting to offload Sancho for a fee in each of the last two summer transfer windows, United were unable to sell and now have to settle for losing him for free when his contract expires at the end of June.

Joining Sancho to depart United is Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey and Malachi Sharpe, after the Reds announced their full retained list on Wednesday morning.

Casemiro confirmed his United exit in January and ended the season in fine form for Michael Carrick's side, helping them secure a return to the Champions League . The Brazilian signed for the Reds from Real Madrid in 2022 and became a cult hero in M16, playing more than 150 matches and helping them win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup .

Some United supporters were hoping the club could convince the 34-year-old to U-Turn on his decision and instead remain at the Reds for at least one more season. But Casemiro and the club's stance didn't change - and he made his final appearance for United in the 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest last month.

In an emotional message after his last United game, Casemiro said on social media: "There are places we pass through in life… and there are places that become part of who we are. Manchester will forever be my home.

"To the city, the club, and every supporter, my sincerest thank you. These past four years have been unforgettable, filled with moments my family and I will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

"There simply aren’t enough words to describe the happiness and warmth we’ve felt here. Thank you for every cheer, every memory, and for making us feel at home from the very first day. Forever a Red Devil."

Malacia, meanwhile, endured a troublesome four years at United after arriving from Feyenoord for £13m in 2022. He did have a promising first season at the Reds, making 39 appearances across all competitions. But it all went downhill from that point after suffering a serious knee injury that kept him out for 18 months.

The Dutchman played just 12 times for United following his return to fitness in November 2024, and is to bring to an end his time at the Reds this summer with his contract expiring.

Aljofree, Bailey and Sharpe are to depart from United's academy and the club will support them in finding new clubs, as well as providing a bespoke aftercare programme, and will always have a lifelong association with the club.
