Manchester United's final position in the Premier League table has been predicted after their recent defeat in the Manchester derby . United were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, in what was their second league defeat of the campaign and third in all competitions.

Ruben Amorim's side have won just one in five in all competitions this season, which came with a 3-2 victory over Burnley before the international break. With no European football to play this season and an early exit from the Carabao Cup to Grimsby Town , pressure has been mounting on Amorim's position.

United are currently 14th in the Premier League table after the opening four matches and now a fresh prediction has emerged for how the final table will look.

Opta Analyst have already made a prediction for the final Premier League standings once 38 fixtures have been played.

The prediction believes that United will finish the campaign in 14th place with 47 points (47.22) to their name.

Should this prediction be accurate, United would then go another season with no European football at Old Trafford.

A 14th place finish would mean the only way to qualify for Europe now will be to win the FA Cup to earn a spot in the Europa League .

In terms of Premier League champions, Liverpool are the club tipped to remain their crown with 80 points (80.41), with Arsenal in second with 74 points (74.48).

It comes as United have a tough run of fixtures in store, as the pressure mounts on Amorim to turn the tide at Old Trafford.
