Bayern Munich are said to be eyeing a move for Marcus Rashford this summer and would have no hesitation meeting Manchester United's £34.5million asking price. That's according to The Sun , which claims Vincent Kompany's side are prepared to snap up the England international, though his £325,000-per-week wages remain a significant stumbling block.
Rashford spent last season on loan with La Liga giants Barcelona , playing a key role in their Spanish title triumph, and reportedly accepted a wage reduction to join Hansi Flick's squad. The 28-year-old bagged 14 goals and laid on 14 assists across all competitions for Barca, yet the Catalan club appear reluctant to make the arrangement permanent.
Rashford has spoken openly about a move to Barcelona being his 'dream' this summer, but they are unwilling to part with the £26m fee required to seal the deal. Flick's outfit have already splurged on Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon for a reported £60m.

Barca are now understood to be shifting their focus towards a striker, leaving Rashford's future hanging in the balance. A number of Premier League clubs are also believed to have expressed an interest in Rashford, with Bayern the latest high-profile side to enter the running.
The report suggests Bayern would have little difficulty meeting United's asking price, but given Rashford may not be guaranteed a starting berth, they would require him to take a pay cut. Bayern are still licking their wounds following Barcelona's move to snap up Gordon, having believed they were favourites to land the England star from Newcastle.
The German champions are keen to strengthen their options down the left flank and had been linked with a surprise move for Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha. However, United's Premier League rivals are reluctant to offload the emerging talent, and Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli represents another potential target for Kompany's squad.

Similarly, Arsenal are open to cashing in on the Brazilian, but he would command a hefty transfer fee, with the report indicating Rashford would be the more affordable option.
It suggests the England international must come to terms with accepting a reduced wage packet, with no club across Europe prepared to match his current earnings.
That said, Bayern's position could shift should they sell Michael Olise to Real Madrid , amid growing speculation linking the French international with a switch to the Bernabeu.
