Next Crystal Palace Manager odds as Andoni Iraola considers Bayer Leverkusen approach

The odds market remains unchanged in terms of who will lead Crystal Palace next season as Oliver Glasner bows out of Selhurst Park with two major trophies to his name after winning the Conference League earlier this week against Rayo Vallecano. It has long been reported that outgoing Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is lined up as his successor but that has not been made official yet.

However, now a curveball has been thrown into the mix with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen understood to be in talks with the Spaniard. The bookies remain confident Iraola is the firm favourite to lead Palace next season at 4/7 with Ladbrokes and Coral while BetVictor are offering 10/11.

Iraola is close to choosing between Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen after an intense round of talks, with a decision expected soon. The Spanish coach has been in high demand after an outstanding spell at Bournemouth and is now nearing his deadline to commit.

Iraola confirmed in April that he would leave the Cherries at the end of the season, and he signed off in style by guiding them to sixth place and Europa League qualification on an 18-match unbeaten run.

Palace moved quickly, offering Iraola the chance to replace Oliver Glasner in south London after the Austrian stepped down despite delivering the Conference League trophy. The Eagles are keen to keep Iraola in the Premier League. But Bayer Leverkusen are also firmly in the race with the Bundesliga club enduring a chaotic period since Xabi Alonso’s exit, with Erik ten Hag lasting only three games before Kasper Hjulmand steadied the ship and led them to sixth.
