Craig Bellamy has backed Aaron Ramsey to one day succeed him as Wales boss. The former Arsenal midfielder announced his retirement from football earlier this year following a brief spell with Mexican side Pumas UNAM.
Ramsey already appears to be putting plans in place for the next stage of his career. He has started working towards receiving his coaching qualifications, having embarked on a UEFA Pro Licence course.
Ramsey has also had a brief stint as boss of Cardiff City, having overseen the final three matches of the 2024/25 campaign. And Wales boss Bellamy has now touted the 35-year-old to take the reins of his country one day.
"I’m pretty sure of it and I’m pretty sure one day you’ll be speaking to him here (as Wales manager),” Bellamy said. “That’s my opinion, by the way. I’m not recommending anything happens before you jump.

"I just believe he’s going to be that talented and I believe he’s going to be a big asset to whoever he’s with and I’d like to see that with Wales one day. I don’t know when, could be two years, four years, 40 years, but I believe we might see that one day."
Ramsey has previously expressed his desire to one day become a manager, having pointed to former Arsenal teammate Mikel Arteta as an inspiration.
He said: "It is inspiring because Mikel was here [studying] around 10 years ago, in the same position starting his journey. That's inspiring for us, to see him 10 years later, lifting the Premier League and in the Champions League final.

"I want to win all the big things in the game. That's the goal, that's the target - to get as good as I can to make that a reality."
He added: "It's not in my DNA to just put my feet up. I feel ready, but that all depends on the opportunity, doesn't it? So what that will look like will be different from different clubs, different age groups and all of that. For me, I feel ready to coach, to manage, to be inspiring to a group of players, and we'll see what comes up.”
Ramsey began his career with Cardiff before a 2008 move to Arsenal. He made 369 appearances for the Gunners before a move to Juventus . The midfielder also represented Nice and Rangers ahead of a return to Cardiff.
