Reports: Hornets send Miles Bridges to Suns for Grayson Allen

The Hornets have reportedly traded away longtime starters LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges this offseason.

The Charlotte Hornets continue to reshape their roster heading into the 2026-27 season.

Just three days after reportedly

dealing All-Star guard LaMelo Ball

to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Hornets have made another deal.

Per ESPN’s Shams Charania

, Charlotte will send Miles Bridges and two future draft picks to the Phoenix Suns for Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and a future first-round pick.

Suns receive:

Miles Bridges

2029 first-round pick

2027 second-round pick

Hornets receive:

Grayson Allen

Royce O’Neale

2033 first-round pick

The No. 12 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Bridges has spent his entire seven-year career with Charlotte. The 28-year-old forward averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists on 46.0% from the field across 77 games this season, and has averaged 20+ points in a season three times. The Suns

had reportedly tried to acquire him

before the 2024 trade deadline, instead dealing for him in the offseason two years later.

The Hornets get two experienced players in Allen and O’Neale to add to a roster that made some noise in the SoFi Play-In Tournament before falling to Orlando in the game for the East’s 8th seed last season. The 30-year-old Allen averaged 16.5 points, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 40.3% from the field across nearly 29 minutes per game for the Suns last season.

O’Neale also brings added bench shooting to Charlotte, having averaged 9.8 points on 40.8% from deep last season with Phoenix. The 33-year-old sharpshooter shot 40% or better from 3-point range in his past two seasons with the Suns. He finished 17th in the NBA in total 3-pointers made last season (212).
