The first Merseyside Derby of the season is here, with Premier League leaders Liverpool squaring off against an Everton side experiencing a resurgence. The Reds are the only team in the Premier League to have won all four of their games so far.

This trend continued on Wednesday night when Virgil van Dijk scored a 92nd-minute header, securing a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League . Whether they can sustain this habit of late wins remains to be seen, but many believe they will need to step up their game in the Premier League to get the better of their local rivals.

David Moyes ' team, inspired by the influential Jack Grealish , has managed two wins and a draw this season, following an opening weekend defeat to Leeds United , leaving the Blues in sixth place in the table.

However, the odds favour Liverpool, who have lost just one of their last 28 home games against the Toffees. Despite never having won a Premier League match at Anfield in 20 attempts, Moyes will be eyeing Slot's team's defensive weaknesses ahead of Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

The first all-Merseyside clash of the season is set for Saturday, September 20 and kick-off at Anfield is scheduled for 12:30pm.

Slot has minimal concerns ahead of the clash with Everton. Curtis Jones missed the tie against Atletico but could be back in contention.

Alexander Isak played his first Liverpool minutes in midweek, but is thought not to be up to speed after missing much of pre-season. Alexis Mac Allister also looks set to be fit after making a return to the squad against the La Liga side on Wednesday.

However, Dominik Szoboszlai's strong form this season could see him line-up in the double pivot alongside Ryan Gravenberch at the expense of Mac Allister.

Moyes is set to be without Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko. Yet the Everton boss will have a call to make up top with Beto and new addition Thierno Barry vying for a start at Anfield.

Tyler Dibling could also feature after moving from Southampton in August, with the youngster yet to make his Premier League debut for the Blues.
