West Ham United have received a boost in their hopes of returning to the Premier League just days after their relegation was confirmed on the last day of the season. Despite their best efforts and securing a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Leeds United, it was all for nothing as Tottenham done enough against Everton to stay in the top tier of English football while the Irons join Burnley and Wolves in the Championship.

It is set to be a hard season to adjust with many Hammers fans frustrated at how things played out since David Moyes was sacked by the club and a tumultuous tenure under Julen Lopetegui followed. Since then there have been a number of questionable managerial decisions but it seems there is good news on the horizon.

The Irons are now odds-on favourites for the promotion spot after West Ham confirmed Nuno Espirito Santo will remain in charge despite the club’s relegation to the Championship. They are now 4/6 for the promotion with William Hill and 9/4 to win the Championship next season with Sky Bet. You can also find more betting offers at the Mirror Betting Hubs Free Bets offers .

There had been speculation the Portuguese coach could be dismissed, with reports suggesting senior figures at the club were preparing for crunch talks over his future. However, West Ham have now made clear he will be staying.

Nuno, 52, is under contract until 2028 after taking over from Graham Potter. The club statement also said West Ham will cut season ticket prices and work to rebuild their relationship with supporters following what it described as a deeply disappointing season.
