Jack Whitehall once told Declan Rice to his face that he would never win a trophy - the passionate Arsenal fan has never been so happy to be wrong. Whitehall was right in the middle of the celebrations at Selhurst Park when the Gunners players finally got their hands on the Premier League title.
He revelled in the triumph on the pitch alongside Mikel Arteta's squad, soaking up memories that will stay with him forever - and now he'll be hoping they create even more by defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Yet if there was one person the comedian and actor was particularly delighted for, it was the former West Ham United captain. After all, Whitehall had once jokingly told him he'd never get his hands on any silverware.
Whitehall - who will be competing in SoccerAid for UNICEF this weekend on May 31 - told football.london : "I saw Declan. I've done some filming with him before so I knew him quite a bit.
"It was for Comic Relief . I had been winding him up about how he was never going to win a trophy. That was a cool full circle moment to be honest with you, as he was getting significant trophies as well."

Prior to joining Arsenal, the only silverware Rice had lifted was the Europa Conference League. Since his £104million move in 2023, Rice endured two runner-up finishes, reached the Champions League semi-final and suffered defeat in the League Cup final against Manchester City before the Gunners clinched the title.

With England, he featured in both European Championship finals in which the Three Lions fell to Italy and Spain, and also played a pivotal part in the run to the World Cup quarter-final in 2022.
Rice couldn't wipe the smile from his face when the Gunners were crowned champions and was amongst numerous Arsenal players who celebrated outside the Emirates Stadium until 5am.

Those festivities continued at Selhurst Park, where Whitehall, along with many other celebrity Arsenal supporters, also joined the party. Reflecting on the scenes at Selhurst Park, Whitehall laughed: "I was at Selhurst Park. I was our team's version of Salt Bae .
"[I was] Down there, on the pitch, getting in and amongst it as the team celebrated with their friends and family. It was an amazing day and an amazing week.
